DAY 1 • WELCOME TO SUDAN
Meet-and-greet at Port Sudan International Airport, introductory briefing about the rules to observe while visiting the country, and transfer to Port Sudan.
Architectural and cultural tour in Port Sudan (the market, the corniche, the grand mosque, and the old colonial church) and traditional Sudanese lunch.
Afternoon drive to Arous, a beautiful sandy spot on the Red Sea shores, renowned for its clear waters, vibrant marine life, and intriguing history, as this is the very place that harbours the famed Red Sea Diving Resort, a secret transit point for Ethiopian Jews during the Israeli covert operation Moses in the 1980s.
In the evening, we’ll gather around a campfire, listen to traditional Sudanese tales and music, and enjoy a relaxing session of stargazing a choose from a variety of delicious meals.
Optional activities at the resort also include snorkelling and guided diving to admire the thriving underwater fauna inhabiting the rarely explored waters of the Sudanese Red Sea.
Overnight in Arous.
DAY 2 • GHOSTS OF THE PAST
Transfer back to Port Sudan and then further south towards the ancient city of Suakin, famous for its stunning coral houses, traditional Islamic architecture, and quaint fishing harbour.
After a thorough gallivanting athwart Suakin’s many wonders, we’ll head for Port Sudan for a well-deserved seafood dinner on the languid corniche and a final night of music, chants, and stories.
Overnight in Port Sudan.
DAY 3 • FAREWELL TO THE RED SEA
Last Sudanese breakfast together and escorted transfer to the Port Sudan International Airport from your homeward flight.
End of the tour.
