TOUR OPERATORS AND TRAVEL AGENTS

Whether you represent a tour operator with some interest in our itineraries or you are a travel agent that would like to resell our tours, we are eager to hear from you. We closely cooperate with prestigious international tour operators such as National Geographic Expeditions, Atlas Obscura and Kel 12 following a profitable partnership model structured on two different and reciprocally independent levels. On the one hand, we offer tour operators the possibility to resell, under their own brand, preexisting itineraries of ours (we will thus effectively act as DMC for the partner tour operator and organise/operate the trip under that partner’s brand/logo); on the other hand, we work closely with our partners to design ad hoc travel routes that we will then be solely and exclusively operated for the partner tour operator we shaped the said routes for (also in this case we will basically act as DMC and run all the ops under the partner’s brand/logo). For partnership enquires just send us a message at info@soviettours.com and we will promptly get back to you with a collaboration proposal suitable to your interests and needs.

Sales agents and travel bureaus can, instead, opt for the classic and much simpler (although, alas, less profitable) tiered resale model. We will basically grant you a standard percentage on each spot you will able to sell on our scheduled departures, plus a higher bonus for private tours. This solution especially suits those travel agencies that are not interested in running operations under their own brand. Most of our resellers, including the well-known Germany-based North Korea specialist Pyongyang Travel, have been working with us following the above mentioned tiered-commission scheme. However, if you our model doesn’t suit you, feel free to contact us to discuss further alternatives.

We work directly with local guides, translators, fixers, drivers and hoteliers to organise our unique adventures, thus cutting out useless intermediary actors such as inbound tour operators and DMCs. We are, in fact, your very DMC for the former Soviet Union.

PHOTOGRAPHERS, JOURNALISTS, Writers, bloggers & CO.

We have a long history of successful partnerships with photographers, journalists, architects, travel writer and bloggers/vloggers alike. The illustrious architecture studio Meuser Architects (and their sister-company DOM Publishers), world-famous Irish blogger Johnny Ward (@ OneStep4Ward), Italian storyteller Eleonora Sacco (@ PainDeRoute), world-famous photojournalist and visual artist Davide Monteleone (@ MonteleoneStudio), Ukrainian mosaic-hunter and Soviet-modernism-buff Dmytro Soloviov (@ Ukrainian Modernism), Italian architecture photographer Roberto Conte, and Yugoslavia-connoisseur Donald Niebyl (@ Spomenik Database) are just some the latest key players we are profitably cooperating with. To be honest, the professional category you belong to doesn’t actually matter that much to us, as long as 1) your work directly or indirectly contributes to the dissemination of (travel) culture and 2) you can count on a selected audience (it doesn’t need to be extremely large) of people willing to travel with you across and beyond the former USSR. If you satisfy these rather minimal requirements, we can offer you advantageous partnership models in terms of resale, promotion and tour-leading. The scheme we follow is pretty straightforward: browse our catalogue of destinations/itineraries and find something that inspires you (alternatively you can also propose us your own ad hoc itinerary within the spectrum of destinations we offer); after that let’s agree on minimum and maximum number of participants, final travel dates and financial nuances; you will then promote/resell the tour via your channels accordingly; finally we will entirely take care of the tour organisation (local guides, logistics, hotels, visas and so on) and run it either under your brand (if you are legally able to do that) or as a co-branded trip, since you will also be appointed as tour leader (along with our local guides). We see this as a perfect win-win model: you will benefit from our logistics and knowledge of the territory to resell a tour without having to worry about the operational side of it and we will benefit from your precious audience to quickly gather a group of like-minded tour participants. Send us a message whenever you feel ready for the great leap forward!
