ENDLESS TAIGA FORESTS AND DEEP TUNGUSIC ROOTS

October 2025 Update: in compliance with the latest amendment (23 October 2025) to EU Council Regulation 833/2014 / Decision 2014/512/CFSP, all tours and tourism related services to the Russian Federation are currently suspended until further notice. This page remains active for informational purposes only. Individual travellers can still legally travel to the Russian Federation without breaching international regulations, though. Russia remains open and welcoming to foreign visitors: don’t let nonsense regulations and bad press scare you away! Please contact us to learn more about your options to visit the Russian Federation, including all locations of the Evenkia Tour described hereunder, without incurring any violation to the existing sanctions against the country.

DAY 1 – KRASNOYARSK

  • Meet-and-greet at Krasnoyarsk International Airport and transfer to our hotel of choice in downtown Krasnoyarsk.

  • Time permitting, we will spend the first day touring the many Soviet wonders and the few pre-Soviet sights of this lively Siberian metropolis very few westerners get to visit.

  • Overnight in Krasnoyarsk.

DAY 2 TO DAY 7 – EVENKIA

  • Transfer to Krasnoyarsk Airport and three-hour domestic flight to Tura, the capital of the Evenkiysky District, more commonly known as Evenkia, a 763200-km2-wide land of unexplored taiga forests, majestic rivers, and remote hamlets inhabited by the Evenks, an obscure Tungusic ethnic group scattered across much of North Asia and officially recognised as one of the Small-Numbered Indigenous Peoples of the Russian North.

  • We’ll spend the next six days in Evenkia, exploring its majestic nature and getting to know its dwellers, the proud and gentle Evenks, who will share with us their food, their homes, and the mystic secrets of their endangered culture.

  • Highlights of our stay in Evenkia will include speed boat excursions along the Lower Tunguska river, traditional cooking and tasting sessions with local Evenk families, long day hikes into the Siberian taiga, a visit to reindeer farm, and an overnight in a chum, the customary raw-hide tent used by many semi-nomadic peoples of the great Soviet North.

  • Overnights with local Evenk families.

DAY 8 – KRASNOYARSK

  • Domestic flight back to Krasnoyarsk and buffer day in town: if time allows, we’ll might be able to take a trip out of town and visit the Stolby Natural Sanctuary, a protected area located just outside Krasnoyarsk and known for its dramatic complexes of rock pillars sprouting out the of the woods like giant stone mushrooms.

  • Overnight in Krasnoyarsk

DAY 9 – FAREWELL TO SIBERIA

  • After sharing a last Siberian meal together, we'll take care of your transfer to Krasnoyarsk International Airport.
