THE ROUTE

DAY 1 • THE RIVER
Meet-and-greet at Irkutsk International Airport and transfer to our hotel of choice in central Irkutsk.
Soviet-themed walk around Irkutsk and short boat ride along the mighty Angara River.
Overnight in Irkutsk.
DAY 2 • THE ISLAND
Transfer by car and speedboat to Khuzhir, the main town on Olkhon, an otherworldly beautiful island located just a few hundred metres off the western shore of the Baikal Lake.
Free afternoon on Olkhon: go wild and let your senses guide you!
Overnight in Khuzhir.
DAY 3 • THE BATH
After breakfast we'll head up to Khoboy, the northern tip of the island, mainly inhabited by the indigenous Buryat people.
After a traditional Buryat lunch, we'll visit Peschanaya, an abandoned Soviet settlement with a dark history to tell.
Transfer back to Khuzhir and relax in a typical Siberian bath house.
Overnight in Khuzhir.
DAY 4 • THE SPIRIT
We'll spend a last lazy morning in Khuzhir enjoying the slow pace of local life and the stunning beauty of the surrounding nature.
After lunch we'll slowly head back towards Irkutsk with a short stopover in Ust-Ordynsky, the administrative center of Ust-Orda Buryatia, a landlocked semi-autonomous Buddhist region within the Irkutsk Oblast.
Overnight in Irkutsk.
DAY 5 • FAREWELL TO SIBERIA
Transfer to Irkutsk International Airport for your flight back home.
Possible tour extensions include: Buryatia and/or Altai.
End of the tour.
